Dancing is not just for the "Stars" . . .

When I first began to get interested in Ballroom Dancing, I found many resources on the Internet, but they all seemed to be people who knew what they were doing.

Ballroom dancers seemed to be concentrated in certain cities, and have their own clubs, their own languages, their own clothes.

We live outside of that glossy world (we live in a very small town in Utah, of all places) but we were introduced to ballroom dancing in college and have revived our interest like many couples, taking a few lessons so that we don't embarass ourselves at our wedding. A class has just started up in our area and we're hoping that it spreads across the country like wildfire.

The more people become interested in ballroom, the more classes will be available (even in remote parts of the world like ours) the more venues there will be to dance in, and the more people there will be to talk about one of our favorite subjects.

We started collecting the stories of ballroom dancers - professionals, competitors, teachers, novices - everyone who has an interest in the subject. We've found that ballroom dancers are the most interesting people and they all have great stories.

Whether you're world-class competitors or have just enjoyed watching ballroom, we'd love to hear your story! Click here for details of how to send us your story.

The purpose of this site is to provide a means for "the rest of us" outside of the Ballroom Dance hotbeds of the world to find a gentle introduction, and encourage you to find resources in your area. We don't think that Ballroom Dance will solve all the world's problems, but it's a start. . .

Welcome, and enjoy. .
